This category covers our paddles along the Gloucestershire and Sharpness Canal which runs for 16 miles from Gloucester Docks down to Sharpness.
It’s a wide and well maintained canal, originally being built in the early 1800’s as a ship canal.
You require a Waterways Licence in order to paddle on this and the other canals managed by the Canal & River Trust.
If you join Paddle UK or Paddle Cymru, then membership includes the Waterways Licence and this seems to be the best way to get the licence.
